A study to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding antenatal services among pregnant women attending outpatient department at urban primary health center, New Delhi

Antenatal care is the pivotal factor for safe motherhood and one of most effective health interventions preventing maternal morbidity mortality, particularly in places where general status women poor.Methodology: A pre experimental, group pre-test, post-test design was adopted study. The study conducted among 40 pregnant attending OPDs at urban center, New Delhi. Data collection done by structured knowledge questionnaire before after administering STP.Results: Majority (62.5 percent), were married age 20 to 25 years; 62.5% Hindus, 67.5% having secondary education, 52.5% homemakers, 55% from nuclear family, 42.5% getting Rs.10001-15000/- income per month 50% had information personnel. overall mean pretest 15.10 SD 5.91, as total 29.18 7.99.The obtained ‘t’ value 10.94, which highly significant. intervention increasing antenatal services women. There no significant association between pre-test selected background variables proved that teaching program independent such age, religion, occupation, type family source on services.
